Custom AI affirmations

Speak the worry. Hear it dissolved.

Type a prompt (one or two sentences) and Aviana generates a 60-to-120-second sleep affirmation in a voice you choose. Roughly fifteen seconds end-to-end. First five affirmations free per device; your prompt is never stored.

How it works

From a thought to an audio file in fifteen seconds.

  1. 01

    You type

A worry, a wish, or a wakeup theme. One or two sentences. Examples below.

  2. 02

    Aviana writes

Claude Haiku 4.5 (via AWS Bedrock) drafts a 150–300-word affirmation tuned to a sleep-narrative shape: grounding → reassurance → return-to-rest. A second pass writes a complementary half with a different sensory anchor for variety.

  3. 03

    Aviana speaks

ElevenLabs Turbo v2.5 synthesises the text at a slow, sleep-tuned pace in the voice you picked. The two halves are stitched into a single seamless audio file.

  4. 04

    You listen

The file plays back in the app, layerable under any sound, savable forever. It can also play on your watch if you connected one.

The five voices

Tap to hear each one.

Each voice rendered with the same affirmation text ("You are safe. You are loved. Rest deeply now.") through Aviana's production envelope so the sample is exactly what you'd hear from a generated affirmation.

Example prompts

Prompts that produce good affirmations.

  • "Calm before tomorrow's interview."
  • "Letting go of what happened today."
  • "Falling back asleep after waking at 3am."
  • "Feeling safe in my body tonight."
  • "Tomorrow's flight will be fine."
  • "Settling my mind, just for now."

What the research does and does not say

Affirmations have not been tested for sleep in a clinical trial.

We would rather say that plainly than dress up a citation. No trial has tested affirmations for sleep, so treat these as a wind-down aid and not a treatment. The research below supports two narrower points. It describes what the tracks aim at, and it guides how the words are written.

Harvey 2002

The cognitive model of insomnia. Worry and mental chatter before sleep keep the night going, and a wind-down track aims at exactly that.

Harvey AG. Behaviour Research and Therapy 40(8):869-893. ↗
Brown 2021

Meta-analysis of self-compassion research: people who treat themselves kindly report better sleep quality. An association, not a trial.

Brown L et al. Mindfulness 12:82-91. ↗
Butz 2018

The link between self-compassion and sleep quality runs through rumination. People who chew things over less tend to report sleeping better.

Butz S, Stahlberg D. Self and Identity 17(6):666-686. ↗
Kross 2014

Seven studies, 585 participants: reflecting on stress using your own name or “you”, rather than “I”, improved emotion regulation and performance.

Kross E et al. J Pers Soc Psychol 106(2):304-324. ↗
Wood 2009

The caution that shapes our scripts: grand positive self-statements made people with low self-esteem feel worse, so we keep the language modest and sensory.

Wood JV, Perunovic WQE, Lee JW. Psychological Science 20(7):860-866. ↗
Cohen & Sherman 2014

The foundational self-affirmation review. It covers education, health and relationships. Sleep is not among the tested domains.

Cohen GL, Sherman DK. Annual Review of Psychology 65:333-371. ↗

Privacy fine print

Will my prompt be stored?

No. The prompt lives only in memory.

When you tap Generate, the prompt is sent to AWS Bedrock and to ElevenLabs for synthesis. The Aviana server holds the prompt in memory for the duration of the request, hashes it as a cache key so re-asking the same prompt re-serves the same audio, and drops the plain text. The generated audio file is kept on our CDN; the prompt that produced it is not.

Is the affirmation generator free?

The first five generations per device are free, forever.

Beyond five, generation is part of the premium subscription. Re-playing an affirmation you already generated stays free; re-asking the exact same prompt is also free (it hits the cache and doesn't count against your five). Saved affirmations live on the CDN and play on demand without re-generating.
